The LSD ban in the US came about because
some retarded organic chemists made a morning
sickness pill, not knowing another form of
the molecule caused birth defects.

In the hysteria afterwards, all experimental
drugs were banned, which included LSD,
and then a withhunt ensued against LSD,
with a few other factors ...
