The bottom line is that I know my condition better than the docs do.
But I have to come into their office, and play their little games. I
tell them my symptoms and they give me something to try, and then come
back 6 weeks later. So I pay again and do the waiting game. In the
meantime I have to live. I have to work. I have a wife and kid to
sup****t. If what he gives me doesn't work, then I have to wait another
6 weeks for him to "play" again with what he thinks I need.
I don't mean to be down on the medical docs, but I'm tired of it. Once
my insurance dries up, or I can't afford the office visit, they decide
no more refills, and no more scripts. So I end up back to square one
mentally speaking. No more for me. The paternalistic model of medicine
is over. Patients need to fend for themselves.
The sad thing is that I know more about receptors than most medical
doctors do. Yet, for my SAFETY, they get to control access to meds I
need. Whatever.
