It's listed as an interaction to avoid since it can antagonise the
analgaesia from morphine; the reason it helps with codeine and DHC is
that it screws with cytochrome p450 II-D-6 ratios helping the liver
make more of them into morphine and DHM respectively. Yet I've noticed
that promethazine really doesn't even help hydrocodone, nicocodeine,
and oxycodone for some reason.
and pethidine and piminodine must be different enough on the CNS level.
