hi, i'd like to point out a few facts about growing the beautiful
flower named papaver somniferum...you can read all this stuff
elsewhere, but since there have been no new post for a long time: here
goes.
first of all, if you find your poppyseeds in a supermarked, or just
use seeds intended for culinary purposes in general, choose the bright
seeds, the white ones are best. this is due to the fact that white
seeds tend to come from flowers that have been left to mature, unlike
blue or brown seeds (in general, mind you).
if you would like to grow indoors in the winter, you could use the
lights cannabis-growers use, but i find that p. somniferum prefers a
more color-intensive light than cannabis. cannabis likes bright white
lights.
if you would like to grow indoors in the summer, while keeping your
crop hidden, you can grow behind a thin white curtain. however, this
must be done i a very well lit window.
back to my very legal beer...
