Some Conocybes *might* be mistaken for Psilocybes. They generally are
small, grow on lawns and fields, some grow on dung, and fit the "LBM"
category that is best avoided. C. filaris is potentially fatal if
eaten. (Amatoxins!) The edibility of others remains unknown.
Conocybes have rusty brown to ochre-brown s****es, distinguishable from
the black to blue-black s****es of Psilocybe.
That said, i think it is still a little early to be hoppin' barbed wire
fences at 2am. Do news searches for "Florida mushrooms" to see when
people start getting busted for trespassing onto farms.
Safe mushrooming requires practice in actual fields and woods. Practice
hopping fences in the middle-of-the-night for the experience; good even
if you come up empty handed.
