the year is 1999...
me and the boys are trekking across a park at 3:30 on a wednesday
afternoon.
we'd all scored some pot together, so now were heading to a nearby toilet
block to pull some bongs... we're only about 14-15years old btw, so all
smoking is still done outdoors at this stage, but its not a school day
i'm leading the pack with two others; one is a friend, the other is his
friend, and theres about a dozen of his mates trailing 20 feet behind us.
we're over a football field about 100m from the block and we're talking
about nothing in particular. no doubt about it, all three of us, we're all
very much looking forward to the smoke we're about to have.
suddenly, my friend yells 'oh ****', does a 180, kneels down and covers
his
eyes. after a little confusion, e.g. asking whats wrong etc, he says
something like '[the grass/everything] is so bright', which he then
follows
up with, '...man, i'm tripping'
this came as a big shock to (the two of) us, because even though we are
all
still naive little ****heads barely into highschool, generally we knew
what
each other was doing. at first, i couldnt believe he had taken a trip
without telling us -
the pack catches up and moves on after we confirm with people that yes,
no-one went tripping today (and at this point mind you, its really
confusing
even for those of us who are straight; i really believed a drug had just
suddenly kicked in for him big-time but everyone including him said no)
anyways, we got into our smoko hut and he was ****ed. i know, when kids
are
so young, they might act out to try and impress their mates by acting
really
****ed or something, but we weren't THAT bad, and this was no joke. the
proof of this is that he didnt smoke at ALL; because he was too wasted
already! a whole day of hassle getting weed, equipment etc., and five
seconds before we get there everything gets shot to **** and he cant do it
anyways, it remains one my most surreal experiences (i think you'd have
had
to have been there to know what i mean by that), i never forgot it.
anyone out there have any flashback stories/experiences/theories?
