Europe and bore off over 1 million Europeans as slaves. The US
purchased and bore off a total of over 600,000 Black Africans.
There are no great European enclaves or families left in Islam
that persist from those days, instead they died of disease,
overwork, maltreatment and some were ransomed.
Contrast that with the US where the initial taking of 625,000
slaves grew to 4 million shortly before the Civil war.
Slavery is a filthy system, but clearly there are degrees in
treatment.
