I have no problem with reasonable use of DXM even just for
recreational purposes, but in my own life it has become a significant
drain. I spend all my money on it, have probably ruined parts of my
brain from it (as well as who knows how many other internal organs -
the stomach in particular), and I just can't seem to stop. I don't
know how common severe addiction to DXM is, but I am most certainly
one of those statistics. Does anyone here know any useful tips one
can try in order to reduce DXM dependence or eliminate it altogether?
Is there a safer, legal addiction one could substitute for it? I only
ask it that way because when I get addicted to something, it's to deal
with some deep and meaningful personal issues. Whatever issue has
compelled me to become addicted to DXM is still with me. I intend to
get professional help for those issues, but in the interim the mass
doses of DXM I consume are probably killing me, and I'd like to be
able to wean off of it at least enough to stop doing damage to myself.
The substitute addiction isn't anything I'd intend to replace DXM
forever, it's just something to help me stop ruining my health as I
endeavor to resolve my issues.
Any useful advice or information will be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
