Hello everyone.
OK, before the flames start, let me start out by saying I've searched
the archives as well as the web for proper techniques.
I know you need to melt it a bit before lighting and the key is to
va****ize the oil to get the best hit. And you can read all the noise
below, if you'd like, but what I'd really like to know is. . .I can't
seem to get those killer bell-ringing hits. I think I'm burning it or
something. . .can someone please post or email some tips, some real
tips? Not just light it and roll the pipe? I'm doing that, and it's
not working like I've had it work before, when someone has lit it for
me.
I've smoked before, on and off. . .was into it pretty heavily until
(<tangent alert--feel free to skip to the end ")" about five lines
down> I discovered the IV route roughly ten years ago and it was
enough to almost put me on the streets, before a couple of friends
convinced me to give rehab one more try(had done an in-house and a
halfway house and only got about 32 days of clean time (after a year-
long run) or so before using again. . .thought it wouldn't work
again. . .) after which I had about four years of clean time, then
only smoked weed and drank for three years until I started using OCs
on and off. . .then gradually drifted back into) the needle which I've
always preferred to everything else. . .I think if I knew I'd have an
unlimited supply of heroin forever I'd never quit. . .but anyways, had
a brief, yet intense six month run or so(some of you might remember my
posts last summer on shooting coke and how it just wasn't the same as
well as reflecting on how different ethnicities sold different drugs)
before kicking. . .again. . .
and so, for almost the last year or so, I've been chipping with just
about everything and no real habit to speak of.
So, I move to the Bay Area, downtown San Jose, and what is right
around my house on a Saturday night when the bars are getting ready to
close? Of course, about a half-dozen or more rock dealers. . .like I
said, I prefer heroin, but I had wanted to get high after a two month
dry spell with nothing except booze. . .
I smoked with a 'head couple in San Francisco in April (<another
tangent alert--feel free to skip to the end ")" about 13 lines down>
where I was wandering around, quite drunk, looking for some hops (what
they call it in The City, I guess, as it was the first time I heard it
called that) after my "date" said she wasn't going to spend the night
with me and went back home to SJ instead, in what I think, now, after
learning a bit more about The City(which I guess is what people in the
Bay area call San Francisco) was The Tenderloin, and I turned a couple
of corners and found myself the only white guy on a city street with
blacks (sorry if that offends anyone. . .actually, not really. . .no
disrespect intended. . .you all know what I mean) and the streets were
so crowded, even for a city-boy from Denver--I kept thinking that
midnight here in The City was like Denver at 6 o'clock on 16th street
mall, at least as far as the number of people--but I wandered through
the crowds, looking drunk and stupid and more worried about a cop
stopping me than getting hurt (because I've found that even in the
nastiest parts of Denver, at least, people leave me alone. . .maybe
I've been lucky and maybe it's because I'm never there to cause
trouble . . .who knows. . .) and looking for someone to cop from when
this lady comes up and says, "You lookin' for something?" and followed
her to her room) where I proceeded to get high as hell on rock and
hops, and she lit the pipe for me and gave me the best hits. . .so
much so that it zoned me out. . .I wasn't talking all night or chain-
smoking or anything. . .they kept asking me if I was alright and were
joking at me 'cause I was so high I wasn't even there. . .weird, as
that wasn't how I remembered it making me feel ten years prior, blamed
it on all the times I shot it. . .she kept saying, and I'll never
forget, have it in my mind as clear as any other memory, how she'd
light that pipe and say:
"Do you want me to send you back to Denver?"
Well, bottom line is, I want to go back to Denver again, via the Rock
Island, and need help how.
Sorry for rambling. . .I've sure most of you have been there.
