WEST PALM BEACH -- A 40-year-old city resident was arrested on robbery
and attempted murder charges on Thursday for savagely beating a man
Feb. 28 after he decided not to buy his crack cocaine, according to a
police re****t.
Alfred Daniels allegedly beat Isaac Hamilton, 48, with his fists then
a 2 X 4 board in the 1200 block of Sapodilla Avenue. Police found him
bleeding profusely from a hole in his head. Hamilton was sent to the
hospital and was unable to give a statement.
On March 27 he told police he approached Daniels to buy crack, but
then decided against it. Daniels then stuck the crack in his hand and
demanded money, Hamilton said. When he refused, Daniels attacked him,
police said.
He grabbed Hamilton in a choke hold and said "Die, die," according to
the police re****t. The attack lasted 10 minutes, Hamilton said. After
he was hit with the board that had a nail sticking out from it, he was
knocked out. Daniels removed Hamilton's pants and shoes and took his
wallet, police said.
Hamilton told police he is on disability and receives a Social
Security check every two weeks. That may be the motive for the attack,
he said.
