HBO Do***entary: ADDICTION (you must read this)

by "THE GLASS PRISON" <theglassprison@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 13, 2007 at 09:21 AM

If you didn't already know, HBO is presenting a mega-do***entary on
addiction http://www.hbo.com/addiction/
starting this Thursday March
15th at 9PM. The Addiction Project is produced by HBO in partner****p
with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Institute on
Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and
Alcoholism (NIAAA). Three groups any self-respecting ADHer must love
with all their heart. It is then followed by a number of supplementary
series and four independent films. The DVD set is also available for
pre-order and of course, I bought it. I'll do anything these days for
"a thrill".

However, without even seeing it, let's face facts. HBO is all about
entertainment and not some "good deed doing" "let's save the world"
bull****. If America knew ahead of time that this do***entary was
dedicated to education, treatment, pictures of brain patterns, and a
bunch of self-proclaimed experts (AKA doctors) describing what a
neurotransmitter is, then no one would give two ****s about watching
this except parents who were oblivious when raising their kids.

As sure as I am typing this post, you will be certain to see drunks
drinking, junkies shooting up, crackheads ****ing, and meth users
rampaging because that's what America wants to see. They want to be
****ing entertained, and not educated. I don't give a **** what HBO's
web site pretends this do***entary's focus to be. If America knew that
there would be absolutely no violence on the last season of The
Sopranos, would anyone watch it? **** no!

I want to see whores smoking crack and meth addicts having an orgy.
That's why I'm watching it and at least I can be honest about it. Who
knows, maybe I'll learn about something that in my opinion isn't true:
that addiction is a disease and a 28-day $30,000 treatment facility
will cure you. That's bull**** and I don't need Penn & Teller to tell
me that.

Any thoughts here? I know I can be cynical and throw a little humor in
there, but I'm sick and ****ing tired how Americans dwell on this
subject of addiction. Why can't people, who want to self medicate
themselves, while not hurting anyone else, be left the **** alone. Why
does everyone have to live by "society's" standards. There are
Catholic missionary groups that still travel into darkest Africa
trying to persuade 75% ****d natives with spears that their wor****p of
an idol is wrong and Jesus is the way. Why? They don't want to know
that ****. They're ****ing happy and content as they are.

Now I'm going out and getting high I'm so ****ing pissed off. Watch
the do***entary.
