Have you tried skipping a full 24 hours, if not maybe give it a go
and see if begin to feel any type a benzo w/d effects.
If you have indeed 'caught' a small habit, perhaps you should 
consider a taper, BUT not on xanax.....switch to valium , much 
longer lasting and you wont need 100's of mg, even tho equivalence 
tables show that 20mg xanax may well be equivalent to 100- 150+ mg 
valium. I have found that you can hold off benzo w/d's with 
unbelievably lower doses of valium, doses you'd think would have no 
effect, but they do take those benzo w/d's down quite a few notches.
I really haven't had much experience wit benzo w/d....just baby 
habits.....but from what I have read it seems sound what I wrote 
above...maybe ETF can chime in.
