Having been through both methadone withdrawl and Xanax withdrawl, (and
I've done the high doses you mentioned)... I have a feeling your not
going to be feeling too good. I think you tapered from the methadone a
bit too fast, and then taking the xanax on top, to stave off the
methadone withdrawls is only going to make you feel worse down the road.
I would start tapering your dose of xanax by breaking the pill in half
every couple of days, with whatever you have left.
How do you feel right now, and what are you taking daily? Insominia is
going to be the biggest thing, and maybe a feeling of increased anxiety,
and jumpyness. If you absolutely cannot sleep, just lay down and try to
even "pretend" to sleep. It really does help. Hot baths also helped me
immensly. I started to actually hallucinate from about 8 days of
straight insomnia. I was seeing shadows out of the corners of my eyes.
Let us know how your doing! :)
